Today, we studied several important grammar points.
Here is a summary of what we learned.
① Comparison
しんかんせんより ひこうきの ほうが はやいです。
An airplane is faster than the bullet train.
Grammar point:
A より B のほうが + adjective
= B is more ~ than A
Example:
でんしゃより バスのほうが やすいです。
The bus is cheaper than the train.
② いちばん（Superlative）
いちねんの なかで いつが いちばん すきですか。
When is the best time of the year for you?
ふゆが いちばん すきです。
I like winter the best.
Grammar point:
N のなかで N が いちばん + adjective
= the most ~ in ~
Example:
くだものの なかで りんごが いちばん すきです。
I like apples the best among fruits.
③ Combining verbs with て-form
ほんやに いって、マンガを かいます。
I go to a bookstore and buy a manga.
Grammar point:
Verb (て-form) + Verb
= do A and then do B
This is used when actions happen in sequence.
Example:
えいがを みて、ごはんを たべました。
I watched a movie and ate a meal.
④ Past actions
きのう なにを しましたか。
What did you do yesterday?
えいがかんに いって、デスノートを みました。
I went to a movie theater and watched Death Note.
Example from class:
にほんごを べんきょうして、そうじを しました。
I studied Japanese and cleaned.
Today’s lesson focused on comparisons, superlatives, and using the て-form to connect actions.
In conversation practice, you talked about your preferences and what you did yesterday using the て-form. You did a great job!
