Thank you for the lesson today! We focused on reviewing 日(ひ)の よみかた from L6a — especially the special readings for 1〜10日・14日・20日・24日, plus reading out full birthdays. It's clear these are starting to feel more natural for you. Great work!
Thank you for coming the lesson. What we studied is as follows;
★review:intermediate 3(Intermission2) →study how to use "〜まえ""〜あと""〜とき";「にほんにいったあと、ちゅうごくに いきました。」「にほんにいったとき、なっとうを たべました」etc ★intermediate 2(final exam) →make some sentences;「すずきさんは わたしに ほんを くれます。」「わたしは やまださんに にほんごを おしえてあげました。」etc ★New Chinese characters →白い・青い ★New words →はる(Paste)
Thank you so much for coming to the lesson. You could use many Japanese words. I was very happy to see you. Let’s enjoy speaking Japanese together with me😊
1. Asking the Time: Polite vs. Casual (しらない ひとに vs ともだちに) Depending on who you are talking to, Japanese changes significantly in politeness. Notice the shift in endings (です/ます vs. だ/plain) and responses.
🔹 Speaking to a Stranger (しらない ひとに) - Polite/Formal Miki: すみません。いま なんじですか。 (Excuse me. What time is it now?)
Woman: 8じ 45ふん ですよ。 (It's 8:45.)
Miki: ありがとうございました。 (Thank you very much.)
Woman: どういたしまして。 (You're welcome.)
🔸 Speaking to a Friend (ともだちに) - Casual June: けんくん、いま なんじ? (Ken-kun, what time is it now?)
Ken: 8じ 45ふん だよ。 (It's 8:45.)
June: ありがとう。 (Thanks.)
Ken: ぜんぜん。 (No problem at all / Don't mention it.)
2. Time & Minutes Pronunciation Check Be careful with the small つ (tsu) sound changes when counting minutes!
1 min: いっぷん (Ippun)
2 min: にふん (Nifun)
3 min: さんふん (Sanfun)
4 min: よんふん (Yonfun)
5 min: ごふん (Gofun)
6 min: ろっぷん (Roppun)
7 min: ななふん (Nanafun)
8 min: はっぷん / はちふん (Happun / Hachifun)
9 min: きゅうふん (Kyūfun)
10 min: じゅっぷん (Juppun)
Clock Examples from the worksheet: 9:00 → くじ (Kuji)
3. Useful Expressions: Congratulations! (おめでとうございます) Adding ございます (gozaimasu) makes the congratulations formal. Drop it when speaking to close friends or family.
