About “desu”: it is a polite form and is placed at the end of a sentence. It doesn’t have a specific meaning like “I am,” but please remember that it is used when speaking politely—for example, when talking at work or with someone older.
Lastly, for homework, please practice numbers. Try to learn how to read and write the numbers from 1 to 10 by looking at them, reading them, and writing them.
