Thank you for your hard work today. Today was the first lesson of the year. On this occasion, in Japanese we say “Akemashite omedetō gozaimasu” and “Kotoshi mo yoroshiku onegaishimasu.” Today, we talked about Japanese New Year traditions. The new vocabulary we learned was oji (uncle), oba (aunt), and itoko (cousin). For grammar, we studied “～の～” For example: くるまのがぎ（car key）, いえのかぎ（house key）, にほんごのほん（Japanese book）, and えいごのほん（English book）.
