Thank you for joining the lesson. I truly appreciate it. It was great to see you! In today’s lesson, we checked the vocabulary from Chapter 4 in the textbook, and we started studying Chapter 5 — the te‑form, which will be one of the most important parts of the lesson. We use the te‑form to connect actions, give reasons, and make requests.
For Group 1 verbs, the te‑form changes depending on the final sound of the verb stem. There are five patterns: Verbs ending in i, chi, ri → tte kai masu → katte machi masu → matte tomari masu → tomatte
*Verbs ending in mi, bi, ni → nde nomi masu → no nde asobi masu → aso nde
*Verbs ending in ki → ite kaki masu→ ka ite kiki masu → ki ite (exception: ikimasu → itte)
*Verbs ending in gi → ide oyogi masu → oyoide
Verbs ending in shi → して hanashi masu → hana shite
For Group 2 verbs are easier than Group 1. To make the te‑form, you simply drop masu and add te. tabe masu → tabete mi masu → mite These only need to remember this one pattern, so Group 2 is very simple.
For Group 3 is even easier — there are only two verbs. We just memorize theirteて‑form: shimasu → shite kimasu → kite Because there are only two verbs, Group 3 is the simplest of all.
Group 1 is more complicated than Groups 2 and 3, but don’t worry. You’ll get used to it little by little, and I think it will become more enjoyable for you. You worked very hard today — it was wonderful. Have a great weekend!

ひらがな・かたかなをヒントなしでも、少しずつ読めるようになってきました。本来なら、完璧に覚えてほしいですが、彼のペースに合わせていきます。数字の読み方を復習しました。どの言語も数字はむずかしいですが、少しずつ覚えていくようにしたいです。

Thank you for coming to the lesson. We went over various features of Japanese writing, including voiced sounds, semi-voiced sounds, contracted sounds, and long vowel sounds. Using example sentences such as “Kore wa pen desu,” “Sore wa pen desu,” and “Are wa pen desu,” we learned the basic usage of “kore,” “sore,” and “are.”

Thank you for joining MDJ! Let’s learn Japanese together from now on! Today, You practiced reading all the hiragana and writing hiragana up to the た-row.
Hiragana is the first important step in learning Japanese. The sooner you learn them, the faster your Japanese will improve.
Keep up the good work! You can do it!

Thank you for coming to the lesson. I’m sorry that we couldn’t have the lesson properly due to problems with my computer and network connection. As speaking practice, you talked about your trip last week. It was unfortunate that you couldn’t meet your friends because of all the problems along the way. Since it had been some time since our last lesson, we read aloud Chapter 1 of the manga Flying Witch again. Next time, we’ll finally review Chapter 1 by creating character profiles and going over some of the more difficult vocabulary.
