Starting today, we began Intermediate 2, Chapter 3, where we study and practice the grammar pattern that uses suru koto desu (“things to do”).
First, we reviewed how to change a verb from the masu‑form to the dictionary form.
To do this, remove masu and return the verb to its plain ending. The rule depends on the verb group:
Group 1: Change the final i‑sound to the u‑sound.
Group 2 (ru‑verbs): Simply remove masu and add ru.
Group 3 (irregular verbs): These change irregularly: shimasu → suru, kimasu → kuru,
We made several sentences using the phrase suru koto desu (“things to do”).
For example: まいにちじむへいくこと(going to the gym every day), acai bowlをてべること(eating an acai bowl every day), まいにちごはんをたべること（eating rice), てきすとをまいにちよむこと(reading a textbook), 2しゅうかんに1ど,くるまをじぶんであらうこと(washing your car by yourself every two weeks), and たくさんホラームービーをみること(watching lots of horror movies.)
